Helping users make sense of their transactions

Role:

Content Designer

Duration:

08.2021 - 05.2023

Responsibilities:

Content Strategy, Wireframing, UX Research

Why we worked on this

Users couldn’t easily recognize or understand their account transactions. Generic labels and unclear references made it hard to track expenses or identify the source of each movement — leading to frustration, doubt, and lack of trust.

How we solved it

We improved the transaction experience to bring clarity, recognition, and simplicity:

  1. Rewrote the most common transaction labels using clearer, more human language

  2. Designed a new detail view for transfers, accessible directly from the activity feed

  3. Categorized transactions into intuitive groups (e.g. food, transport, services)

  4. Replaced generic initials with icons that visually represent the type of transaction

How the experience improved
  • 30% fewer support tickets related to unknown or confusing transactions

  • +40% increase in perceived clarity of the transaction feed, based on user feedback

  • Hundreds of positive messages on social media and app store reviews after launch

Estimated impact based on user feedback and comparable releases
